This is a short list of movies either about or shot in Duluth, Minnesota. I'll add to it as I find more.
Leatherheads was directed by and starring George Clooney, and costarred Renée Zellweger. It’s loosely based on the unlikely true story of one the first professional football team, the Duluth Eskimos Because the movie wasn’t specifically about the Eskimos, there was no location shots in the film in Duluth, Minnesota. However, George Clooney did visit our lovely city.
It’s a fun story about the early days of the professional football teams, and a nice fun little love story between Clooney and Zellweger. A good watch if you haven’t seen it..
You’ll Like my Mother
Shot in the famous Glensheen Mansion, in Duluth Minnesota, this classic thriller pits a pregnant wife against a controlling and creepy mother in law.
I’ve not seen this one yet, but I plan to, as I enjoy the old classic thriller/horror movies. This one seems to be along the same lines as Rosemary’s Baby, so I’ll probably like it. If anyone has seen it, please leave a comment and let me know if it’s worth the watch.
(shot in Duluth)
This is one of those classic boy loves dog stories. It’s also a movie teachers pop in when they can’t think of anything to teach that day (pretty sure I saw it at least four times that way).
One of the scenes of this movie was shot at City Hall - 411 W. 1st Street, Duluth.
Haven’t seen this one, but Jessica Lang plays someone who goes a bit nuts and wants the horse that put her in the hospital killed (of course).
Apparently there is a scene that is shot in Duluth, though I, because I haven’t seen it, I’m not sure where it was.
(shot in Duluth)
Haven’t seen this one either, however, the plot sounds interesting. A man in Canada meets a girl (of course) who needs help getting her dead brother across the boarder. But of course there’s more to the story, and drugs are involved and I’m sure guns and people die somewhere in there. Sounds fun.
There is a scene that is shot in Duluth, Minnesota, not sure where though. If you do, please share.
I'm also interested if any of you out there know of any more good movies that are either about city of Duluth, or are shot in the city.blog comments powered by Disqus
